2009 Diocese of the West Assemby

The 2009 Diocesan Assembly is scheduled to be held at the Protection of the Holy Virgin Church in Santa Rosa, CA from Wednesday, October 14, 2008 through Friday, October 16, 2009. Registration for DELEGATEs, OBSERVERs and invited GUESTs is now open. Please use the following links to register online for the 2009 Assembly. The deadline for Assembly registration is September 1, 2009.

Reports for the 2009 Diocesan Assembly are due in the Chancery of the Diocese of the West by September 1, 2009. The preferred method of delivery is electronic submittal. Reports will be compiled into one Delegate Report Book, which will be posted on this site at www.dowoca.org in mid September. More information regarding reports may be found at the following link.

PROPOSED SCHEDULE:
On Wednesday, October 14 delegate sign-in will be held at the church after 3:00 PM. Vespers will be held at 6:00 PM, followed by a reception in the church hall. On the same evening, the Diocesan Council, including Deans and Department Chairs, will have a dinner meeting, beginning at 7:00 PM.

On Thursday October 15, the Hours will begin at 8:30 AM followed by Divine Liturgy at 9:00 AM. Following the Divine Liturgy, there will be a Brunch for delegates, guests and observers served in the church hall. The Diocesan Assembly proper will begin on Thursday after Brunch. Also, the host parish will serve dinner in the hall following the afternoon session.

The assembly will continue on Friday, October 16, following a light breakfast at the parish hall. A light lunch will be served as well. Plan to adjourn at about 4:00 PM, possibly later. Also, the Diocesan Council, along with newly elected members, will have a short meeting following adjournment. To ensure proper attendance at these meetings, please make return flight arrangements no sooner than Friday evening.

A complete agenda and schedule, as well as reports, will be made available on this page in September. Delegates will be responsible for downloading reports and reading the material prior to the Assembly.
