3rd Sunday After Pentecost at Christ the Savior Church in San Francisco
Jun 29th, 2009 • Section: Featured, Hierarchical VisitsBishop Benjamin served the Divine Liturgy on the 3rd Sunday after Pentecost at Christ the Savior Church on Anza Street in San Francisco. CSC was originally part of the Holy Trinity Cathedral parish and the location of the offices and residence of the bishops of San Francisco. The temple was constructed during the episcopacy of Archbishop John (Shahovskoy). In the mid-nineties, Bishop Tikhon, being in residence in Los Angeles, moved the offices to Southern California and Holy Trinity Cathedral and Christ the Savior Church were separated into two entities. Christ the Savior Church continues to serve the needs of the Russian-speaking community of San Francisco.
