Children of St Peter the Aleut Mission Raise Money/Awareness for PROJECT MEXICO
May 12th, 2009 • Section: Featured, Parish LifeAs a Lenten project the Sunday school of St. Peter the Aleut Orthodox Mission in Lake Havasu City, AZ prepared alms boxes to gather donations for Project Mexico and St. Innocent’s Orphanage in Tijuana, Mexico. The lesson was more about personal sacrifices for the students rather than as a fund raiser.
1) Students build a model house like those built through Project Mexico.
2) Construction financial goals were met for the completion of the model home.
3) The younger children learn to give up what they have.
4) Alms in the amount of $544.70 were turned in to Rev. Peter Henry to be sent to Project Mexico.
