Christ is in Our Midst!
On behalf of Bishop Benjamin, I want to inform you with great sorrow, that our beloved Father Joseph, rector of the Transfiguration of Christ Cathedral in Denver and dean of the Rocky Mountain Deanery, departed this life this afternoon at 4:53 PM. Matushka Paulette, the family, Father Anthony and other area clergy were with Father Joseph when he departed.
The following is the schedule of services for the coming weekend:
- Sat. the 29th at 10am – Divine Liturgy for the Beheading of St. John the Baptist at Transfiguration served by Bishop Benjamin
- Sat. the 29th at 6:00pm – Vigil at Transfiguration served by Bishop Benjamin. Fr. Joseph’s body will be in the Cathedral through the night and a vigil of psalm reading held. The church will be open for anyone to come visit and pray. We will need at least one parishioner with Fr. Joe at all times. If you are interested in doing this, please let me know when you would like to do this so I can be sure we are adequately covered throughout the night.
- Sun. the 30th at 10:00am – Divine Liturgy at Transfiguration served by Bishop Benjamin with Fr. Joe present
- Sun. the 30th at 7:00pm – Panakhida at Assumption Greek Cathedral: 4610 E Alameda Ave, Denver, CO 80246-1301, (303) 388-9314
- Mon. the 31st at 7:300am – Divine Liturgy at Assumption Greek Cathderal: see Sun. for address
- Mon. the 31st at 10:00am – Priestly Burial Service at Assumption Greek Cathderal: see Sun. for address
From the Funeral, we will process to the burial. Following the burial, there will be a Memorial Luncheon at the Transfiguration Hall.
Flowers can be sent to the Assumption Cathedral.
