The patronal feast of St. John the Baptist Church, Berkeley, CA was celebrated by His Grace, Bishop Benjamin, Archpriest Kirill Hartman, Deacon Brendan Doss and the parish faithful on Sunday, July 5. St. John the Baptist Church is part of the Russian Deanery of the Diocese of the West and was founded in 1936 and has served the Russian-speaking community in the East Bay. Berkeley has been the see of auxiliary bishops in the Diocese of the West and is a major college town.
