Dear Reverend Clergy, Parents, Campers and Staff:

Glory to Jesus Christ! Glory forever!

St. Eugene’s Camp will be taking place this summer July 5-11, 2009 at St. Nicholas Ranch in Dunlap, CA. With the blessing of His Grace Bishop BENJAMIN, St. Eugene’s is inviting all parishes in California to send campers and staff. It is the hope of His Grace that youth from throughout California will take this opportunity to come together for an incredible week of Christian fun fellowship, education, and worship.

Included in this packet is the 5-page Camper Application Form that must be completed for each individual camper, along with a packing list to help your child be prepared for this year’s camp when he or she arrives and directions to the campsite (St. Nicholas Ranch in Dunlap, CA). PLEASE MAKE NOTE OF CHANGES ON THE PACKING LIST, ESPECIALLY WITH REGARDS TO SWIM WEAR, CHURCH CLOTHES, AND ITEMS TO LEAVE AT HOME.

Cost for camp this year is $365.00 per camper with discounts for siblings. Please see the application form for more details. On the application you will also notice that we have payment plan to ease the burden on families. You can make payments (or a simple deposit) going toward your child’s tuition monthly from now until the beginning of camp. Also, remember camp fees are tax deductible under childcare. On your tax return you can include St. Eugene’s Camp (#95-4705483). If anyone is in need of a scholarship and has not been able to obtain one from his or her parish, please feel free to contact me or Kathy Pieracci at the information listed on the form. Late fees will be charged for any applications postmarked after June 19th. Remember that you can register your child with a deposit, and then pay off the balance from now until they arrive at camp.

As a reminder to all parents, we do try to discourage telephone calls to campers during camp, except in the case of emergencies. As there is very minimal cell phone coverage, if there is an emergency your best option is to call the Ranch Office at (559) 338-2103. We do, however, always encourage card and letter writing.

Please don’t forget that for St. Eugene’s to be the best possible experience for our youth, we need committed and talented adults. Please consider giving the gift of your time to the youth of our Church in this important ministry and encourage others to do so, as well. Having the chance to develop healthy relationships with committed and faithful adults is often a key element in helping youth remain in their faith. I have included a copy of the Staff Registration Form. If you are interesting in serving the Church as a camp staff member, please contact me.
