Iconography Workshop Set
Jun 16th, 2010 • Section: Announcements, Featured, Other EventsThis summer, iconographer Heather MacKean will be conducting a workshop in Eastern Orthodox iconography from August 9th through August 14th at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church in Portland, Oregon. The workshop will culminate into a public lecture on the last evening, regarding iconology and the theological role of iconography.
Through hands-on classes, Ms. MacKean will teach students the basic patterns and techniques used in icons, how to prepare and paint with egg-tempera and other mediums, and the ancient tradition behind the art of iconography. Each day will begin at 9 AM and end around 5 PM, with a light lunch and refreshments provided.
Applicants are asked to apply early as spots in the class are limited to 15 positions. An application form with a $100 deposit (which will go towards the $700 tuition for the course) is required by July 26, 2010 to secure a spot.
