Once a year, clergy and lay representatives from each parish, monastery and institution meet to discuss the administration of the diocese. The Annual Diocesan Assembly shall elect members of the Diocesan Council, adopt a Diocesan Budget for the following fiscal year for the Diocese, elect an Auditing Committee, and conduct any other business properly brought before the Assembly.

The 2025 Diocesan Assembly will be held July 18 from 1:00pm to 4:00pm, directly following the conclusion of the AAC in Phoenix, Arizona. Additionally, His Beatitude has indicated that a special Nominating Assembly of the Diocese of the West will be convened on Wednesday, July 16, likely at 1:00pm.
Please keep the following in mind as you plan for our week together in Phoenix:
Delegates: Your parish lay delegate for the AAC is typically the same for the Diocesan Assembly.
Travel Arrangements: As you and your delegate(s) make travel arrangements for the AAC, please ensure that your return flight(s) allow you to be present for the duration of the Diocesan Assembly.
AAC Registration and Hotel Accommodations: If you haven’t done so already, be sure to register for the AAC and secure your hotel accommodations. Please ensure your delegate has done the same.
Save the Date (June 29, 2025): While the AAC will include a special lunch to honor His Eminence’s retirement, please be sure to save the date for our Deanery-hosted retirement dinner on June 29, 2025, to be held at St. Seraphim of Sarov in Santa Rosa, CA. Registration Here.
Parishes, institutions, departments and officers will prepare reports in advance, which will be included in the Delegate Books below. Also, the full text of Archbishop BENJAMIN’s opening address, not included in the books, and the approved 2025 budget will be linked below (after the assembly); draft minutes of the Assembly (to be approved at the next Assembly) will be posted once reviewed at the Winter Diocesan Council meeting.
