The Diocese of the West, OCA, offers this retreat for priest’s wives, deacon’s wives, and widowed of the same. We envision a low-key, quiet weekend with prayer and fellowship as the focus. A few short talks will be offered by Fr. Innocent after dinner on themes related to godly relationships, combating despondency, and the importance of choosing how we think, inspired by the book: Sing to Your Soul the letters of St John Chrysostom to Deaconess Olympiada. Participants are invited to assist the monks in processing produce (sauerkraut, pickles, kimchi, etc.) and baking (sweet breads, piroshky, etc.). The monks need some help! And it is nice to work together on domestic tasks. Our hope is that we can strengthen one another in our unique vocation and come away encouraged and uplifted by the experience.
