Outreach in Redding

Saturday January 17, 2015 was a wonderful day for Saint Nicholas of Japan Mission Parish in Redding, CA. We received 5 catacumens and Father Andreas Blom said the Blessing of the Waters (Theophany) for our parish. He then spent the afternoon traveling to various parishioner’s homes for House Blessings. It was a great time singing the Troparion together.

Later that evening, we hosted a Three Kings Dinner to the community at large in Redding, CA., where we served traditional Russian food. After dinner we had entertainment with Russian story telling and singing, including one song from The Phantom of the Opera. It was a huge success. This is our 2nd annual fundraiser and outreach to the Redding community. Everyone was pleased with the evenings and many remarked at the “spiritual sweetness” of the evening.

Through the prayers of Saint Nicholas of Japan, may we grow and increase in God’s blessings, mercy and forgiveness.
