The monks of the Monastery of St John will be once more hosting a young adult retreat this June. The Orthodox LIFE School is open to Orthodox believers who are between the ages of 18 and 35. It will be held at the monastery here in Manton, California from the evening of June 15th through early afternoon of the 21st. Click on the link below to register online:

Orthodox young adults are often isolated and left to their own devices to try to navigate life. The Orthodox LIFE School was designed to give “basic training” in how to live an intentional, dedicated life in the Church–a life centered on God. Following the “immersion” approach, participants will join in the monastic cycle of services, receive instruction on the spiritual life in the mornings, work alongside the monks at the various “obediences” in the afternoons, and “go forth” to minister to strangers and homeless in a nearby town on the last full day.
In the short-term, we anticipate that friendships will develop, a sense purpose and vision for Orthodox Christian life will be instilled, and, in the long-term, Orthodox youth will find the thing they’re supposed to do for God and for His Church and, thereby, be fulfilled.
