The Diocese of the West is pleased to announce that registration is open for the 2026 Music Practicum being held from July 20-24, 2026, at St. Seraphim Cathedral in Santa Rosa, California. This practicum is organized with the blessing and personal participation of His Grace, Bishop Vasily, and will be held concurrently with the Diaconal Liturgical Practicum of the Orthodox Church in America.
The Music Practicum is open to current choir directors and aspiring music leaders who are looking to improve their skills and understanding of Orthodox liturgical music. The program features workshops in conducting, vocal technique, liturgical planning, and musical repertoire, framed within a context of daily divine services at the cathedral. Instruction will be tailored to the experience level and needs of the participants as we all seek to lift up our voices in praise and thanksgiving to God ever more beautifully.
